You want to involve your baby in all the holiday fun, but you don’t want to break the bank because you know they won’t remember or show as much excitement as an older child.

Well, this is the right place for you. I have carefully curated this list to include several stocking stuffer ideas perfect for baby’s first Christmas and all of them are $10 or less!

All of these ideas are non-food or candy, which is great for the babies that are not even eating yet. Many of the toy items are Montessori inspired.

You may want to use some of these ideas as gifts for your baby instead of stocking stuffers. There are lots of ideas here, so hopefully you will find something you love.

Colorful ribbon toy

These ribbon toys are lightweight and don’t take up much room…perfect for a stocking.

Baby will love to watch as you swing around the colors (also great for visual tracking, an important pre-reading skill). You can also hang the toy on a play gym to support reaching and grasping. And when your baby is older, they will love to swing and sway it as they dance around the house.

You can choose your color combo too.

Crinkle Paper

Crinkle paper is also lightweight and doesn’t take up much space, making them excellent stocking stuffers.

There are so many fun prints and patterns to choose from, which will make your baby’s toys a stylish addition to the playroom.

Baby’s love these crinkle paper toys for the ease of grasping and the fun noise they make. The crinkly sound provides sensory input and it supports the development of cause and effect.

Personalized Blocks

I do love a personalized gift (See my Toddler Gift Guide and Baby’s First Christmas Guide).

These personalized blocks could make a great gift or stocking stuffer. It probably depends on the length of your child’s name and the size of their stocking.

Either way, these are a fun toy, but can also make for beautiful nursery decor.

Montessori Wooden Rattle

This wooden rattle is a classic Montessori baby toy and Ruby loved it when she was tiny. This was probably one of her favorite toys/teethers.

Such a simple and beautiful design, plus it gives a different texture for mouthing beyond plastic or silicone.

Harry Potter Crinkle toy

Ok, I know I already included a crinkle toy, but I just had to put this one on the list for all the Harry Potter fans out there (my husband included).

This one has the added tags around the edges that babies really seem to love. It gives them something else to grab onto and it provides more interest in the toy.

So, if you have a Harry Potter Christmas theme, then this is the perfect gift or stocking stuffer for the baby in the family.

Wrist Rattles and Foot Finders

These are a classic baby toy. Ruby didn’t show much interest in these when I first put them on around 3 months old, but when she was a little older like 7 or 8ish months she really loved these.

Wrist Rattles and Foot Finders are great for body awareness (probably why she liked them when she was older and had already discovered her hands and feet). She also thought it was hilarious when she would shake her legs and the rattles would make sounds.

It also improved her mobility because it provided lots of encouragement to stretch and reach to try to grab those creatures off her feet.

Personalized Christmas Ornament

Did I already say how much I love personalized gifts? That and ornaments combined are probably my favorite Christmas tradition.

If you get a simple and small ornament, it would make for a great stocking stuffer. You can  take a look at some other ones which would make great gifts that I added on my post “Unique Gift Ideas for Baby’s First Christmas.”

Christmas Teethers

When you think about baby’s interests, teething and putting things in their mouths has to be at the top of the list.

These Christmas-inspired teethers are a fun, festive way to give something to baby based on their interests.

Baby’s can gnaw on fun Christmas print crinkle fabric or on the wooden handle. A multi-sensory experience.

Personalized Elf

My mother in law gave Ruby one of these elves for her first Christmas and she loved it! I am excited to take it out each year now.

We are not an elf on the shelf family, but if you are then maybe you could get one of these personalized elves to be THE Elf.

Funny Baby Socks

If you have a baby (and a sense of humor) chances are you need a glass of wine or a beer or a coffee.

These socks are a perfect stocking stuffer not only as a practical gift for baby, but also as some entertainment for the rest of the family.

Sometimes the holidays can be crazy and stressful, so bringing a little cheer and lighthearted fun is helpful for all to remember to enjoy the holidays and each other.
